In his play Julius Caesar, Shakespeare reflects upon the tragedy of missed opportunities. He writes: “There is a tide in the affairs of men which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted all the voyage of life is bound in shallows and in miseries.” There is nothing more tragic than lost opportunities and wasted lives. Here, at Don Bosco, we strive to create an environment where rote-learning is discouraged and self-learning is encouraged, individuality is priced and altruism is the norm. Our philosophy is focussed on assisting the young to understand themselves, build their self-confidence, own up responsibility for self and society. As in the past, so in the future, we strive to build generations of Bosconians enthused with life and a “never-say-die” attitude that helps them seize opportunities and challenges without counting the cost!
